This is a unique opportunity to be part of a values-led and growing secondary school, located in a state-of-the-art building in Heywood. You will work closely with the Systems and Operations Manager and wider leadership team to provide timely, accurate and insightful data to inform school decision-making, while also ensuring full compliance with national exams regulations and statutory reporting.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage and maintain the school’s Management Information System (MIS), currently Arbor, ensuring student data is accurate, secure, and up to date.
  • Coordinate the collection, validation and analysis of academic assessment data across year groups.
  • Support curriculum leaders and senior staff with high-quality reports, data dashboards, and exam performance analysis.
  • Oversee the recruitment and training of exam invigilators, manage the set-up of exam rooms, and lead the secure handling of exam papers and results.
  • Lead on statutory returns such as the School Census and Key Stage performance data submissions.
  • Support compliance with GDPR through responsible data handling and reporting practices.
  • Provide training, advice and support to staff on data systems, including producing helpful user guides and templates.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with school MIS platforms (e.g. Arbor, SIMS) and can confidently produce reports and handle large datasets.
  • Possesses strong ICT skills, including advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Has experience in exam administration or data management within a school or college setting.
  • Remains calm, methodical and professional under pressure, especially during busy exam seasons.
  • Has excellent communication skills and can work collaboratively across departments and with external agencies.
  • Has an eye for detail, a high level of accuracy, and a commitment to data security and confidentiality.

At Edgar Wood Academy, you’ll benefit from:

  • A welcoming, supportive and ambitious team.
  • A strong culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • A newly built school with modern facilities.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support.
  • Cycle to Work scheme and other benefits via our Employee Benefits Programme.
