Art and Design Curriculum Year Plan (I create a year plan first, to plan my year out before completing my Scheme of Learning). I like how you can see the whole year on one page :) The Year Plan can be put at the front of each students’ folder and the student can see where they’re up to too, ideal for SEN students who like to know what’s coming next! This Year Plan is for the academic year 2023-2024 and is easily adapted to suit your curriculum needs. The art curriculum incorporates a broad art curriculum of drawing, painting, collage, photography, sculpture and printing. It includes Equality & Diversity (E&D) opportunities and functional skills; as well as embedded NOCN Art course criteria (Art Appreciation, Painting, Drawing etc.) Suitable for Entry Level 1 to Level 2 students.

2 Schemes of Work year plans (overview that conveniently shows the whole year on 1 page!) for the ICT/Computing Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ) for Entry Level 3 & Level 1. The year plans use the Pearson curriculum specification (although can easily be adapted to suit other awarding bodies such as NOCN or OCN). Starting the academic year 2023-2024. Useful as a guide when creating your schemes of work or can be put at the front of students’ folders to chart progress. Ideal for SEN students, the course curriculum is spaced out through the year to allow plenty of time for completion and repeat assessments if needed. It covers all five units: Using Devices and Handling Information Creating and Editing Communicating Transacting Being Safe and Responsible Online.

This is an Initial Assessment that I use with SEN students who require Travel Training sessions. The student fills in the assessment to gauge what the students are/are not confident with in regards to travelling on public transport (buses and the Metro or Tube). This information can then be used to inform Travel Training session content. I usually get the students to redo the assessment later in the year to determine the progress made. Easily adapted from Metro to Tube if needed.

This is a 1 page resource that includes an Art rubric that can be used as a self assessment by students completing an art course. It is easily adaptable to suit whatever art criteria you need. I used it with my students with Autism who were completing Art NOCN (National Open College Network) courses. It is a good way for students to visually see how they are progressing throughout their Art course and what criteria is still left to achieve.
