Visiting Music Teachers

Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) are self-employed with the contract for provision of lessons are made directly between parents/carer and the VMT

We are looking for musicians who will uphold Ursuline Academy Ilford’s values and ethos which is underpinned by Gospel values and the Ursuline motto of ‘Serviam’. Be committed to fostering an inclusive environment where music is accessible for all. VMTs are expected to deliver high quality, enjoyable lessons, inspiring and engaging pupils of all musical abilities across the Academy and Sixth Form.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience teaching their main instrument to grade 8 and, ideally, a second instrument to grade 5.

Instrumental Tuition Charges:

Based on 30 minutes: Individual lessons cost £216 per term (£18 per lesson).

Based on 20 minutes: Individual lessons cost £144 per term (£12 per lesson);

Shared lessons (2 students) cost £72 per term (£6 per lesson).

Applications will be assessed upon receipt and we reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date. Early applications are therefore strongly advised. References will be taken up prior to interview.

We understand the importance of accessibility to music and would not want any pupil to be financially disadvantaged so have set aside Bursary funds to support families.
