Who we need

We are looking for someone to join our Wellbeing team here at Nottingham College who is passionate about working with young people and helping them succeed in their college life. Responsibilities of this role include:
* Supporting at risk students to overcome barriers and access their college education
* Liaise with students and support network
* Manage a large caseload keeping up to date records through the relevant systems
* Opportunity to take part in team CPD specific to the role o! f the wellbeing mentor
* Taking direction with our safeguarding team to ensure safeguarding policies are being upheld

What you’ll bring

You will possess experience of supporting young people to ensure their safety and wellbeing on a range of pastoral and learning related topics. Essential skills and experiences required are:

* Excellent administration skills and experience supporting people in an FE setting
* Thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Work collaboratively within the wellbeing team, taking part in peer support and best practice sharing
* Experience in giving pastoral support to 16-18 year learners
* Have a passion, commitment and drive for the impact education can have on the wider Nottingham community

Nottingham College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational general further education college situated in Nottingham. It is a 16 plus with five different sites in the centre of Nottingham. The latest Ofsted report identified 14,029 learners at the school, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was established in 1998 through a merger of smaller educational centres in the Nottingham area. Further merging has happened, most recently early in 2017, when the college merged together with Central College Nottingham.

Nottingham College has a high success rate for getting its former students into a successful place in the job market or further education. It also provides an adult education service

The college specialises in music and performance as well as excelling in its media and creative courses. It hosts a wide range of facilities to help its learners’ experiences, from a hair and beauty salon and art gallery through to a music venue and theatre.
